Posted on 02/09/2022
As a final stop on its travels around the world, Master of Arts Contemporary Fashion Design students’ collections are on display at Galleria San Vidal in Venice. With the help of artist, photographer and IFA Paris lecturer Marco Tassini, the exhibition displays an emotional and captivating story.
As a part of an exhibition titled The Dream, which addresses environmental issues and explores the role of art as an appeal to take responsibility towards climate change emergency, these student looks are also joined by a look by IFA Paris lecturer Anastasia Grigoryeva.
Inside the exhibition, a short video filmed by MBA Fashion Image & Media Production students Chloé Desreumaux and Melanie Mollard is also being projected. This video entails footage of MA Contemporary Fashion Design students working on their designs.
The Dream Exhibition – IFA Paris students’ design
This project highlights themes so dear to IFA Paris, being sustainability, migration and community. The collections, upcycled and made from recycled material tell the emotional stories of migration around the world and the overall need to take better care of the planet.
On the Minister of Culture’s official list of contemporary art exhibitions, so far, over 30 different Italian press sources have written articles about The Dream and IFA’s contribution.
The exhibition is on until September 11th, with its closing event on September 9th in Venice’s famous Arsenale. The Arsenale, being a complex of former shipyards and armories, was responsible for the Venetian republic’s naval power in the late Middle Ages to the early modern period. In that very historic space, we will host guests to view the looks and the video currently projected in the exhibition along with other works.
We would like to thank all the members involved in this project: the student designers, artists, photographers and more.
