Paris Fashion Week: Womenswear Spring/Summer 2025 Highlights

Paris Fashion Week is always one of the most anticipated events in the fashion world, and the September 2024 edition lived up to expectations. Between standout moments, striking trends, and immersive experiences, designers once again pushed the boundaries of creativity and innovation.

Highlights of Paris Fashion Week

1. The Return of Pierre Cardin

One of the most awaited moments was the tribute fashion show to Pierre Cardin. This pioneer of futuristic fashion continues to influence new generations of designers. With a show centered around the theme of rebirth, the designs blending retro-futurism and minimalism captured everyone’s attention. Geometric cuts, innovative textiles, and a metallic color palette left a lasting impression.

IFA Paris was fortunate to attend with 20 of its students. A unique opportunity to understand the behind-the-scenes of such an iconic fashion show.

2. Agnès B: Timeless Fashion Poetry

Agnès B’s fashion show brought a touch of softness to the Parisian bustle. With her elegant and timeless cuts, Agnès B has told a story full of poetry. Artistic influences were felt in every piece, from delicate embroidery to subtly colored prints.

IFA Paris accompanied 4 students for an exclusive immersion into the designer’s world. They had the chance to interact with the teams, understand the importance of craftsmanship, and have a formative experience in an intimate and inspiring setting.

Key Trends to Follow

1. The Metaverse Takes on a New Dimension

This year, several fashion houses have integrated the metaverse into their collections, blending the physical and virtual worlds. Holographic models or those wearing creations made from 3D printing have symbolized this fusion of art and technology. This growing trend also has an ecological dimension, reducing textile waste.

2. Revisiting the 2000s

The "Y2K" aesthetic is making a strong comeback. From sleek silhouettes to shiny, iridescent fabrics, designers have reinterpreted the trends of the 2000s with a modern twist. Low-rise jeans, crop tops, and mini accessories dominated many runways.

3. Eco-Conscious Minimalism

More and more brands are highlighting reduced but thoughtful collections, favoring recycled and sustainable materials. Minimalism has become an activist act, where each piece is created to last and adapt to a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.

IFA Paris’ Immersive Experience

Being at the heart of Paris Fashion Week allowed IFA Paris students to experience firsthand the prestigious world of haute couture. By attending over 20 shows, they were immersed in the creative energy of the fashion capital. These privileged moments offered our fashion students invaluable lessons they can apply to their future professional projects.

Through these experiences, IFA Paris continues to establish itself as an essential player in the training of future fashion talents. Our students were able to explore not only trends but also innovations and societal evolutions that redefine Paris Fashion Week each year.

The September 2024 edition of Paris Fashion Week once again proved to be a global showcase of innovation and creativity. IFA Paris, always at the forefront, enabled its students to live this adventure from the inside, preparing them to become the visionaries of tomorrow.
