Posted on 26/03/2025
As part of IFA Paris’ partnership with Avantex Paris, the trade show dedicated to innovative solutions aimed at creating a more efficient and sustainable fashion industry, the school hosted Alice Gras. Her lecture examined the crucial role of professional trade shows in shaping the fashion industry's response to current demands and evolving trends.
Avantex: Driving Fashion's Innovation and Transformation
Alice Gras, an entrepreneur and consultant, helps fashion designers and companies grow by integrating sustainability and innovation into their strategies. With almost a decade of experience, she has contributed to the rise of Paris's fashion-tech scene and and collaborates closely with the Avantex Paris trade show.
During her presentation, she explained that Avantex Paris is a trade show entirely dedicated to technological advancements in fashion and textiles. It highlights innovations that are transforming the production chain, from design to distribution, with a strong focus on reducing environmental impact. By bringing together researchers, designers, industry professionals, and startups, Avantex creates a unique space for collaboration and shaping the future of fashion.
Alice Gras also presented the Avantex Fashion Pitch, an international competition for startups offering innovative solutions in three categories: services, textiles, and fashion design. The competition, which culminates in a final at the Avantex trade show, is a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs. In addition to gaining visibility among investors, media, and key industry players, participants receive strategic support to help develop and structure their projects.
A Strengthened Partnership Between IFA Paris and Avantex
This partnership extends beyond this presentation. Last February, Jean-Baptiste Andreani, Managing Director of IFA Paris, participated in a roundtable discussion at Avantex, where he shared insights on innovation and sustainability challenges in fashion.
Alice Gras’ conference also highlighted several projects carried out in collaboration with IFA Paris. Among them was a study on the consumption habits of young fashion professionals, aimed at better understanding the expectations of new generations regarding innovation and sustainability. This data has helped guide discussions on evolving industry practices and encouraged a more responsible approach to fashion.
The collaboration will continue in September, with an IFA Paris booth at the next edition of the trade show, offering students and graduates a valuable opportunity to connect with key industry players.
