The original objective of international fashion weeks is to allow buyers to preview seasonal collections that will appear in stores. Shows developed by international fashion houses have elevated these professional events to the rank of most expected and impactful artistic productions worldwide.
The short course Fashion Event Planning is aimed at providing students with an introduction on the different components involved in the organisation and execution of a fashion show.
In line with IFA Paris’ pedagogical strategy, this short course has been created with a practical and pragmatic focus. From understanding how to create a fitting technical sheet, to ateliers in gastronomy and oenology geared to select the perfect show catering, students will benefit from a fully immersive experience.

Teaching strategies
This course is structured using a balanced mix of theoretical modules, workshops and practical exercises. The central idea behind all the components is to raise participants' awareness and improve their creativity so that they can produce the most impactful, unique and coherent fashion event.
A cross-disciplinary project will be presented on the first day of the program. Students will receive a brief from their client asking them to conceptualise and run their event.
In Paris, participants to this short course will be producing a fashion show featuring collections of our graduates from the Bachelor Fashion Design and Postgraduate Fashion Design Program. This is a large-scale event that can be a great addition to the professional portfolio of a future fashion event planner.
The online program takes place live and in real-time (Paris or Istanbul local time) and you will interact with the lecturer and other students through our online platform. However, if you cannot attend or miss a live class, every session is also recorded and saved, so you can go back and watch it at a later suitable time for you.
Course Structure (Miami)
The Miami Edition of our program will combine theoretical lessons and practical applications structured as follows:
42 hours of classes spread over 7 days (End of November – beginning of December – exact dates TBC) during which participants will get insights on the following:
- Development of a creative brief for client validation
- Creation of a project management timeline detailing specific actions and stakeholders involved in the production of a show
- Organization of final fittings of collections
- Planning and execution of a model casting consistent with the overall theme of a show
- Curation of a show playlist
- Management of rehearsals
- Elaboration and management of an action plan addressing challenges related with backstage and runway choreography.
24 hours of practical application spread over 3 days (beginning of December – Exact date TBC) during which participants will produce the 3 IFA Paris Fashion Shows held during Miami Art Week.
All participants will be given VIP Passes to attend a VIP Preview of Art Galleries at the selected location for the course fashion shows.
The program will be delivered in our partner institution, Miami Ad School, a world renowned institution that prepares students to face the challenges of the ever changing world of creativity. The design of their Miami Campus is the perfect environment to stimulate future fashion show producers!
Our instructor will be none other than the creator of our Fashion Event Planning Short Course in Paris: Jenae Green. With 10+ years’ experience in the fashion and media industry, her work for Calvin Klein, Marie Claire, Bergdorf Goodman or IMG has allowed Jenae to work on large scale events that have made her a permanent fixture of fashion weeks in New York, Paris or London!

Admission Requirements
- Recommended level of English is IELTS 5.5 (to fully understand and follow the course). The IELTS certificate is not required, but we just want to be certain that you will be able to comprehend the course.
